Pretty Mambo Blossoms!

This was made for the color challenge today, Pretty Mambo Blossoms! If you haven't guessed the colors were melon mambo, pretty in pink and blush blossom. I also used the fall to layout #75 from Clean and Simple, found here:

My card base is textured Melon Mambo and I stamped the dotted background on it in the same color. I stamped two hearts from the Love You Much set in Melon Mambo ink, one on pretty in pink and the other on pink pirouette ( substitute for blush blossom). The Valentine sentiment is from teeny tiny wishes. I added the melon mambo dotted ribbon to finish the layout, by punching a hole in the white piece and tying it through.

Another Saturday challenge

I had to make another! I liked this color combination too much! I had also pulled out this set when I was first looking for the challenge, so thought I could do one of each. This one is made with the set Botanical Blooms, from Sale-a-bration last year.
This was one of my favorite Sale-a-bration sets last year. This was done in the same colors and water colored as well.

Saturday Inspiration Challenge

This card was made for the Inspiration challenge today at Splitcoast Stampers. The inspiration came from the line of Scarves from Echo, the one I chose is here:

I loved the painterly look of this silk scarf. I chose to use a set I haven't used in a while, Fifth Avenue Floral. I love coloring this set ( or painting in this case). I used the cosmos flower image and painted them in melon mamba, pixie pink, pumpkin pie, and real red. I added chrystal effects to the center and added clear glass beads to that for a texture for the center of the flower.

Elephants and Polka Dots!

I made this card for the color challenge today at Splitcoast, CC254. I also used the sketch challenge from a few weeks ago for my sketch layout, SC259. The colors today were bashful blue, soft suede and ruby red. I used close colors but not exactly. ( I went more with what scraps of paper I have on hand!)
I love this elephant paper pieced, and the bashful blue worked great for that. I combined the fun polka dot paper from the Sweet Slumber designer series paper, with the elephant image, and some blue ribbon, and blue scalloped trim. For the back panels I had pulled out some scraps of Bella Rose designer paper ( red patterned paper) and Candy Lane designer paper ( close to cocoa pattern) to frame my main image.

A few Valentines Cards

This card was made for the CAS color challenge today on Splitcoast Stampers, CAS50. The challenge was to use Teal with one other color and white. I chose pink as I wanted to do a Valentine card too. I used the stamp set The More the Merrier, with the birds as the main image. I used my blender pens for the coloring in teal and melon mamba. I also stamped the heart from the same set onto the melon mamba and cut it out for an accent on the card. I used designer paper from the Razzleberry Lemonade ( pink) designer series and the Sweet Pea designer series ( teal DP). The strip of hearts is embossed with the Love It classy brass embossing plate, on pretty in pink card stock.

I made this card for a few CAS challenges at Splitcoast a few days ago (CAS48, CAS49). They were for a Valentine card, and Cut it out, something had to be cut out on the card. I mounted the designer paper ( Razzleberry lemonade, Stampin'Up!) onto chipboard and cut it out with one of my heart sizzlits. For the pretty in pink strip I embossed the hearts from the Love it classy brass embossing plate. ( retired, Stampin'Up!) I next added the trim done with the new scallop trim from Stampin'Up! cut from Melon mamba paper. The pink satin ribbon finished the card.

Fresh Cuts Botanical

I made this for the inspiration challenge today at Splitcoast. My inspiration was a botanical print.

The main image is stamped with the main image from the Fresh Cuts set in River Rock ink. I then colored it with prismacolors to highlight some of the leaves and flowers. I stamped, colored and cut out the butterfly from the Natural Beauty set. The sentiment is also from Fresh Cuts. The river rock accent was punched with the modern label punch. I added a black grommet and tied some River Rock double stitched ribbon into it.

Red and Brown Color Challenge

I made this for the CAs challenge today at Splitcoast. The challenge was to make a card using red and brown.
I stamped the main image of the skaters on watercolor paper and colored the image with blender pen and an aquapainter.
I stamped the snowflake image in red and soft suede, having stamped off sometimes for a softer look. I added a piece of hodgepodge hardware with the ribbon tied for an accent. I cased my own card for the layout.

CAS card remake

I made this card for today's CAS43 design challenge. The challenge was to remake a card and make it more CAS. Here is my original card:

I used the same main image stamp, Dot Snowflake border from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from Four the Holidays from Stampin'Up! I stamped the image after first coloring the various snowflakes in the colors used. I then stamped the sentiment above it. I cut the bottom off around the snowflakes and lastly attached the red designer paper to the bottom of the card. For a little bling I added small sticky rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes in matching colors.

Ink: bashful blue, real red, certainly celery
Accessories: small colored rhinestones

These cards were made a few weeks ago for the CAS40, I have now had some time to post them.
The challenge was to use one color and white. I liked the baja breeze color from last year. Both cards use the same paper and stamp sets ( the peace on Earth uses Four the Holidays for the sentiment and the tall card uses a sentiment from the Best Yet stamp set (retired hostess set) I stamped the snowflakes from the patterned pines and the winter post sets. I stamped the snowflakes with varying degree of ink on them for a variety of looks with one color. The designer paper is from the Walk in the Park DP from the Spring Mini. The baja breeze snowflakes are from last year's Holiday Mini. ( all supplies Stampin'Up! unless noted otherwise).

Sketch challenges

I made two cards yesterday for the CAS design team search challenge. Both cards are based on a sketch design interpretation. This is the sketch we were to base the card designs on:

I loved the sketch layout but wanted it a little less rigid, but staying with in the feel of the original.
For this card I liked the idea of the hearts with the frog with the sentiment, and had fun with the hearts, stamped with the Love You Much stamp set and punched with the Heart to Heart punch. Quick and simple!

For this second card I had some fun with the More the Merrier stamp set. I used the pumpkins from the set and masked them altering the layout so that they weren't obviously repeating. Love the happy pumpkins! A simple Halloween hello.

I love this snowman image! I wanted a simple card with this image as the focal point. I water colored the main image. The background is embossed with the Flourish texturz plate. I mounted the main image onto a bermuda bay large scalloped circle.

winter cards

I cased my own card for this one ( the original was on kraft card stock with white snowflakes, embossed, posted a few weeks ago) I wanted to remake it for a workshop and wanted to simplify the steps. So I made it with white craft ink instead on the rich razzleberry paper, and paired that with the bordering blue in the sentiment.

I made this card for a clean and simple approach to the Winter Post. All the cards I made with this set were busy so I was trying to make this simple and not many layers, with the focus on the skaters.

Christmas medallion

I made this card for a stamp-a-stack class I will be having soon. I wanted to make a simple card that still was fun. This card uses the Medallion background stamp and the snowflake from the Winter Post set as the main image. I stamped the images in white craft ink and then embossed with iridescent ice. The snowflake was then punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch. I then punched a hole in the middle of the snowflake for the ribbon to go through, so that it could be tied. The ribbon is the red stitched whte grosgrain from the Holiday Mini catalog. The sentiment is from the Holiday Greetings set. The main card is sahara sand card stock, with the main image on real red, mounted onto whisper white.

Inspiration

I made this card for the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast on Saturday. Below is the image for the inspiration. It is from an Etsy shop called TzaddiShop. When I saw the image I knew what sets I wanted to use right away. I used the Great Friend set and Fresh Cuts from Stampin'Up! The main card and accent strip are Not Quite Navy card stock, as are the leaves from the great friend set. The main image I stamped in crushed curry classic ink and added the old olive to the leaf portions of the image. I stamped the butterfly with some iridescent blue embossing powder I had and cut it out to mount on dimensionals. The thank-you from the fresh cuts set is embossed in white embossing powder. Last I added the brads as accents in the curry and navy colors.

Mellow snowflakes

These two cards were made for the color challenge at Splitcoast this week. The colors were mellow moss, whisper white, and kraft. I like the look of these colors for Christmas cards, especilly with the snowflakes and the pine images. The first card uses the Serene Snowflakes and the Four the Holidays sets from the new Holiday Mini from Stampin'Up! The main card is the kraft with the snowflakes embossed in the white. I also embossed the sentiment from Four the Holidays set on the strip of mellow moss. For the white accents I added the strip of white with the scallop edge and the white satin ribbon.

This card was made for the sketch challenge this week and the color challenge as well. The main image is from the Autumn Days stamp set. I also used the large pine image from Peaceful wishes for the pattern on the other vanilla strip. The mellow moss and kraft panels are stamped with the Serene Snowflakes in white craft ink. A mellow moss grosgrain ribbon finishes the card.

Serene Snowflakes

Finally some time to play with my new mini catalog stamp sets. This card uses the Serene Snowflakes set from the Stampin'Up! mini. I made it for a color challenge last week, using blues ( bermuda bay) pinks (melon mambo) and green ( old olive). I wanted just a simple card that showed off the snowflakes. I stamped the snow flakes onto whisper white, then I added the melon mambo paper from Razzleberry Lemonade designer series paper, then added the rhinestones to the center of each snowflake ( in matching colors!) then added the old olive ribbon, Simple and quick!

This card uses the same stamp set ( Serene Snowflakes) and the same designer paper but the card base is kraft, and the snowfakes are embossed in white. I stamped the sentiment ( Peace on Earth) from Four the Holidays stamp set, and the snowflakes first and embossed. Next I added the rich razzleberry and razzleberry lemonade designer paper ( which I distressed a little bit). Lastly I added the bashful blue striped ribbon. I love the look of the white on the kraft.

Bold Birthday Card

I made this card for a color challenge. It was to use shades of pink, green and blue. I used melon mambo as the main card color. The flower is bashful blue ( designer prints paper) and the green used is old olive. First I embossed the main panel with the flourishes texturz plate. Next I made the flower with the flowers layers w/ leaf bigz die. The center of the flower is an old olive button from the Playground collection. I used the Top Note die to cut the whisper white piece, and then stamped it with the sentiment from the On Your Birthday set. A quick and easy, mostly big shot card.( all supplies Stampin'Up!)

Inspiration

Both cards today are for the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast Stamper's.
The ispiration today came from the store called The Pajama Squid. For the first card my inspiration was this wall art:

I loved the colors and the image. I used my Spring Solitude set together with the Bright Delights rub-ons. I also added the fun hardware that went with the rub-ons, Hooray! The main card is Melon Mamba, with the main image mounted on a piece of Dusty Durango. I added the flower from the Spring Solitude set on the Melon Mamba color at the bottom.

I liked the image and didn't change much from the inspiration, I just added the ribbon ( old Olive) and the filligree brad as an accent. The background of the card was run through the small dots texturz plate. The main image is stamped with the Wild About You set in crushed curry, bashful blue, pumpkin pie, old olive and real red. The main image is mounted on crushed curry and then that is mounted onto a piece of bashful blue designer prints paper. ( All supplies Stampin'Up!)

Some Halloween fun.

I made this card for the color and sketch challenges at Splitcoast today and yesterday. The sketch was fun. I made my own spectrum pad with the new in color re-inkers in Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, and Dusty Durango. I brayered these colors onto the glossy white card stock. I rolled the Spooky Skyline( retired) over to finish my main image. All of the panels are mounted onto black card stock. The two designer papers are from the razzleberry lemonade paper. I stamped the 'Trick or Treat' from the holiday best hostess set onto the orange DP panel. The background on the rich razzleberry card base is the sanded background done in black ink.

This card was also made for the color and sketch challenges. The sketch challenge is run the other direction, for a horizontal layout which worked better with the main image. The colors are again rich razzleberry, crushed curry, and black. The grey/back designer paper is from the Cast-a-Spell series, and the purple is from the Razzleberry Lemonade paper. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. I added three small Making Memories brads to finish the card off.

Another fall card.

I did another card with a similar layout to one I posted earlier in the week. This card uses the Autumn Days stamp set as well as Peaceful Wishes from Stampin'Up! The card base is soft suede and the main image is stamped on sahara sand card stock. The small leaves are stamped in red riding hood on whisper white paper, then cut out and added with dimensionals. I added the leaves after the jute twine was tied onto the card.

More fall cards.

This set has always been a favorite to water color but I thought I might try it with prismacolors on kraft card stock, and I love the look. All three of the images and the sentiment are from the Give Thanks set from Stampin'Up! The apples are my favorite, they are paired with the 5/8' grosgrain ribbon also Stampin'Up! The bottom corners of the card are also rounded, it seemed to suit the images. This is an easy and quick, clean and simple card!

This card is the basket of leaves and the leaf cluster images from the set. The ribbon is the 5/8" chocolate chip grosgrain, also Stampin'Up!

This card is done with the sunflower image from the set. The ribbon is the polka dotted crushed curry, with the dotted side down. This set is retired but you could get a similar look from other sets in the catalog, such as Harvest Home ( pg. 26 of the current Stampin'Up! catalog )and Gifts of the Earth and Autumn Splendor sets coming out September 1st in the new Holiday Mini Catalog.

Clean and Simple cards!

I made these cards for the clean and simple design team search. The challenges looked fun! This one fits all three challenges. There was a color challenge, shades of brown with a bit of red, a sketch challenge, and a theme challenge, I did autumn.
The main image is from Stampin'Up! retired Give Thanks set. It is one of my favorites to water color. I cut out the bucket and apples, and mounted them on dimensionals. The leaves from the Autumn Days set were stamped in soft suede on the soft suede card base. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. I finished the card off with some jute cord which has some red glass beads on it.

This card I did up quickly because I had another bucket I had water colored. The sketch layout is from a previous CAS challenge. This card is for the Autumn theme. The card stock is kraft, the red paper is designer paper which I also stamped the leaves and the sentiment onto. The main image is done on water color paper. The leaves on the background were stamped in versa mark on the kraft card stock. The ribbon is mellow moss grosgrain. ( All supplies Stampin'Up!)

Winter in August?

I wanted to do the weekend sketch challenge yesterday (WSC91), and I happened to have the new simple snowflake punch on my desk so this was my starting point for the sketch which called for a large circle embellishment, and that led to the stamp set, Winter Post. The card is made from kraft card stock stamped in soft suede. The cuttlebug snowflakes are on very vanilla, and the skaters are on watercolor paper. The simple snowflake was stamped in pretty in pink onto pink pirouette card stock, and then punched out. The button is from Basic Grey and the ribbon is the pink taffeta, tied with linen thread. The bottom strip is rich razzleberry stamped with white craft ink.

Color challenges this week.

These cards today were made for the color challenge and sketch challenges this week at Splitcoast Stampers. The first card is for the clean and simple sketch challenge CAS25, and the color challenge, which was pixie pink, apricot appeal, and certainly celery. I used the Big Shot texturz plate 'Eyelets' for the background texture on the whisper white card base. The main image from 'Live Like You Mean It' stamp set, is stamped in certainly celery and pixie pink. I added the silver brads to finish the flower centers. The bottom is apricot appeal designer paper, tied with a piece of certainly celery grosgrain ribbon. I added the strip of pixie pink with the scallop edge to the side. All products are Stampin'Up!
This card was made for the sketch challenge SC239 and the color challenge CC229. It uses the new set 'For all you do' which I just received! The main image uses the flowers and the butterfly ( with the dots stamp added over the butterfly wings for some added texture). The celery and apricot appeal strips are designer papers.

CAS24 challenge.

This was made for the clean and simple challenge yesterday at Splitcoast. It was a color challenge, yellow, turquoise and orange. I used a retired set, Polka Dots and Petals, along with Define Your Life, for the sentiment. The colors I used are: so saffron, pumpkin pie, and tempting turquoise. The ribbon is the SAB so saffron grosgrain.

Items from the new catalog

I have had some fun creating some samples for my open house for the new Stampin'Up! catalog.

This card uses my favorite new color, rich razzleberry, for the base. The top is pale plum card stock which has been embossed with the new Sizzex embossing folder elegant bouquet. The small flowers are cut with the Sizzlets floral fusion die out of rich razzleberry card stock and some of the paper from the Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. The leaves were cut with the little leaves sizzlit die out of old olive card stock. The sentiment is from the teeny tiny wishes set, and punched with the new modern punch, then attached with some old olive ribbon. Some mustard colored brads finish off the flowers.
This card is similar. It uses rich razzleberry for the base, then the top is orchid opulence embossed with the same embossing folder. The main image is from the Simply Said set. It is colored in orchid opulence, rich razzleberry, and old olive felt pens, then I added some crystal effects with some dazzling diamonds to the flowers. the ribbon is the new dotted grosgrain in the rich razzleberry color. I think this one will be one we will make for a make and take.

Something new, something old.

I wanted to use some of the new Stampin'Up! colors with some of the old for these cards. The first one uses bermuda bay ( new ) with certainly celery, real red, and pumpkin pie. I used some scraps of designer paper for the real red and the certainly celery. I stamped the bermuda bay and the pumpkin pie with some of the little flowers from the Itty Bitty Buds set ( Soon to be retired Hostess set). The main image is from the More the Merrier set. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set ( new) and it is stamped onto a tag cut with the new modern punch.
I really liked the look of this paper all on its own, so I did a real simple card for it. The DP is from Raspberry Lemonade designer paper. The main card is made in barely banana, and the ribbon is so saffron 5/8" grosgrain. the sentiment is from the teeny tiny wishes. It is stamped in crushed curry ( new color) and then punched with the modern label punch. Lastly I rounded the corners with my corner rounder.
This card mixes the new colors, soft suede and dusty durango, with old olive. Love the combination! This card uses The More the Merrier set, as well as the little leaves from Give Thanks ( a retired set). I stamped the leaves on each of the colors. the main image is stamped onto very vanilla and then water colored in soft suede, dusty durango, and old olive. I added the ribbon, dusty durango dotted grosgrain ( without the dots showing ) to finish the card off.

COLOR CHALLENGE

These are the colors for Kristina Werner's color challenge this week. Not colors I typically go for, so I guess a good challenge for me! This is what I came up with:

For the card I used the Good Friend set from the occasions mini, as well as the co-ordinating Walk in the Park designer series paper. The main card is in really rust. The main image is stamped in more mustard and really rust on very vanilla and then mounted onto more mustard card stock. The butterfly is stamped in basic grey and the cut out. I added a red rhinestone brad for some bling! the bottom is the designer paper, mounted on some basic grey. I finished it off with the creme taffeta ribbon.

New Stampin'up! Sneek a Peek items!

I have had such fun creating a few more cards with my new Stampin'Up! colors, stamps and designer papers!This card was made using the more the Merrier set and the Razzleberry Lemonade designer papers. I stamped the cupcakes onto a piece of whisper white I had cut with the top note die. The cupcakes are water colored in all the colors from the papers: melon mamba, rich razzleberry, crushed curry, dusty durango, and soft suede. the happy birthday is from the new set Teeny Tiny Wishes. I punched the sentiment with the word window punch and then added that to a piece of the melon mamba punched from the new modern label punch.

This card also uses much of the same colors and papers as listed above, but uses a different pattern from the razzleberry lemonade paper.

I loved the cupcakes from the More the Merrier set, as you can see from all the cards I made. This card is on the rich razzleberry card stock, which I stamped the dotted background stamp, and embossed the sweetest ever sentiment in white embossing powder. The main image is water colored in melon mamba, rich razzleberry, dusty durango, and soft suede and then is mounted on dusty durango card stock. I added a small amount of the new ribbons to finish off the card.

I created this card for the Ways to use it challenge at Splitcoast on Thursday (06/18) It was to use text on your card. I added the happy halloween from the teeny tiny wishes set, and then I added the 'happy' from the Define Your Life set beside the cutest pumpkin face ( from the more the merrier set). I used some of the new colors again, as well as kiwi kiss card stock.

Casing Success!

I just loved the card this month on page 23 of Stampin' Success! And I liked the look of the embossing on designer paper, so gave it a try. The only thing I didn't like was the texture of this wonderful designer paper shows through in the embossing. The color challenge today made me think right away of this DP Sweet Slumber from SU. The colors are ruby red, baja breeze and whisper white. The stamp set is upsy daisy.

My new stuff arrived yesterday! I really love this snowman image and see myself using it a lot.

I was wishing that the DP had some of the bermuda bay color in it so I made my own with the sanded background stamp. I know it doesn't show too much, but it is there!

Embrace life!

The challenge today at Splitcoast was to make a white, one layer card. ( you could use other colors on it) I used the Embrace Life set, for the main image. I used my blender pen and added kiwi kiss and pretty in pink to the images stamped in Chocolate chip. I masked off the frame around the image and sponged that in soft sky and baja breeze. The butterfly is punched from some Urban Garden DP. The sentiment is from the best yet hostess set from the fall 2008 catalog. The ribbon is the baja breeze satin ribbon from the ribbon originals valet collection. I am really going to miss these colors when they retire! ( all supplies Stampin'Up!)

It's a loop thing!

With this set retiring (It's a loop thing, and loop to loop rub-ons) I thought it time to use it some more. I loved the versatility of the rub-ons and the stamps together. I really like these bundles! So sad to see it go.

Today the Clean and Simple challenge ( CAS18) was to make a card with shades of pink and kraft. I chose pink pirouette with a bit of pretty in pink. This card uses the flower stamp embossed in white embossing powder, and pink brads added to the centers. The rub-on is the sentiment at the bottom. The butterfly is cut from the smallest butterfly on the bigz butterfly die. It is cut from a scrap of Candy Lane paper. The sentiment piece is mounted onto a strip of pretty in pink that I used the scallop edge on.

I thought this card wasn't quite simple enough for CAS so I made another...

I needed a birthday card for my Niece, so I thought the cupcake from this set would be great. I love the rub-on sentiment, Hey cupcake! The cupcakes are embossed in white and then I colored them with soft pink and brown pencil crayons. The main image is mounted on pretty in pink and then onto pink pirouette.I added some pink rhinestones from K & Company for the pretty bling on the cupcakes! The ribbon is Simply Satin in pink, to finish off the card.

Color challenges this week.

These two cards today were made for two different challenges at Splitcoast. The first is the color challenge CC220, so bashful pumpkins! I used the Fifth Avenue floral set, and the On Your Birthday set for the sentiment. The lilies in my yard are the same colors as these, so saffron and pumpkin. this card is also for the ways to use it challenge today, WT220 beautiful buttons. The main card is so saffron. The lilies are done on water color paper, and mounted on bashful blue DP. The ribbon is the so saffron from Sale-a-bration, the circle is punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch, and the button is from Basic Grey.

This card was also made for the same two challenges at Splitcoast this week. Again I thought this color combo worked nicely with the Wild About you set ( see post a few days ago). The Washington apple designer paper too, was perfect, it made it really easy actually. I like to layer the animals in this set, especially the lion so that you can get his mane to be orange. The layers are mounted on dimensionals. The main card is so saffron, the layer is on pumpkin pie, and the stripe is from the Washington Apple DP. All of the buttons are Stampin'Up! as well, so saffron, bashful blue, and white from the latte collection.

Card remakes

Natural beauty redo.
This card was made for today's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast, remaking a previously made card from my gallery, and making it clean and simple. The card I chose to remake is this one:

The card uses a retired Stampin'Up! set, Natural Beauty. I eliminated all but one of the layers, and chose to stamp all of the images on one layer, except the butterfly. All of the colors are the same as the original ( pink passion, pixie pink, old olive, always artichoke, chocolate chip, regal rose, pumpkin pie) except the main card is mellow moss card stock, and the images are stamped and colored on water color paper. I used the same aged copper brads as flower centers and added moss organdy ribbon.

The ribbon is pretty in pink taffeta.

Color challenges!

I made this for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. The colors were brilliant blue, rose red, and only orange. These were not colors I would normally reach for, but I guess that is why it is a challenge right? The brilliant blue seemed perfect for one of my favorite flowers, delphiniums! So the Petal Prints set comes out again! The main card is the blue, with the main image mounted onto rose red. The ribbon is the beautiful purely pomegranate from an older holiday collection. The button is from Basic Grey, all other supplies are Stampin'Up!

This is the second card I made for the challenge. I had two ideas right away when I saw the colors so I did a card for both. I thought the colors were right for a kids' birthday card, so out came the Wild About You set. The happy birthday is from the Eat Cake set. The main card is rose red. The brilliant blue designer paper is from the Jersey Shore collection, from Stampin'Up! ( All supplies Stampin'Up!) The ribbon is the striped 1/2"orange grosgrain and the fun jumbo grommet is from the designer hardware in the Occasions mini.

I made this for today's Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, CAS15. It was black and white and bold bright. I chose pixie pink for my bold bright, mostly because I knew I wanted to use the Fifth Avenue Floral set. I also used the Very Versatile set from the occasions mini for the sentiment and the flower branch. I water colored the flowers in pixie pink and cut and mounted one on a dimensional. The flower panel is mounted on pixie pink card stock. The ribbon is from Michael's, Sheer Creations.

Tuesday color challenge

I made this card for the color challenge yesterday at Splitcoast ( CC218) The colors were only orange, kiwi kiss, and summer sun. I used the Great Friend set and the Summer Love Rub-Ons.

The small flowers were done with the flower trio punch in the summer sun. I added orange brads to the centers so they looked more finished.

Soft rock and roll flowers

I made this card for yesterday's clean and simple challenge at Splitcoast stampers (CAS14). The challenge was to use the rock and roll technique. I thought of this set right away for it, it's one of my favorites, Petal Prints, from Stampin'Up! The sentiment is from On Your Birthday set.

The main card is soft sky and whisper white. The inks used are kiwi kiss for the leaves, the tall flowers are almost amethyst, then rolled in perfect plum, the brown eyed susan flower is stamped in so saffron, then rolled in pumpkin pie, and the center colored in choc. chip. The frame was sponged with soft sky.

Mother's Day Mini Album

Mother's Day Mini Scrapbook Album

One of our projects Patty had for us at our regional meetings in February was this mini album. We made it with the SAB Delicate Dots paper. I thought it might be fun to make for Mother's day with the Tea Party designer paper from Stampin'Up!

I made this for a class to go with the Mother's Day card I posted a few days ago. ( See Mother's Day cards) I didn't stamp on the front of this yet but I intend to. I just couldn't decide what I want it to say.

The front uses so saffron card stock and the co-ordinating colored paper from the tea party paper. The whole album is made from the TEA PARTY DP, certainly celery, so saffron, whisper white and pretty in pink card stock. The flowers are made with the Flower Layers die, from Stampin'Up! ( as are the flowers on the inside cover). The front and inside cover also use the Top Note die. The ribbon is the celery twill from SAB.
This shows the inside of the album, and the first page. The left spot could be for journaling or a photo. The buttons are made with the Sizzix Buttons #5 die. I mounted the certainly celery paper onto some thin chipboard and ran it through the Big Shot for some added dimension.
This image is the album with the flap lifted up on the right side. It has room for 2 more photos here. The flowers are made with the 5 petal flower punch, small flower trio punch, and a marvy flower punch. I doodled on the petals to mimic the paper design.
This is the album with the flaps fully open. There is room to mount three photos and tuck some more into the pouch on the lower left side. The flowers are made from the 5 petal flower punch and buttons again from the buttons #5 die.

Unfrogettable!

I thought it time to finally post some scrapbook pages, since it is national scrapbook month after all! Also the Stampin'Up! promotion this month is great for scrapbookers. Buy any three packages of 12" x 12" textured card stock and designer series papers and get the fourth free! With so many great papers to choose from you'll have a hard time narrowing it down to just four! Have a look at the designer papers on pages 158-161 of the Spring-Summer Catalog.

These group of photos, my daughter playing on the frog, toadstool, and the dragonfly , seemed perfect for the Unfrogettable set ( retired, one of my favorites! ) I stamped the frog on wild wasabi, the toad stool on apricot appeal, and the dragonfly on cool caribbean, then colored with prisma colors for the accents. The letters are die cut( Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale alphabet) from wild wasabi designer papers. The main paper is certainly celery, and the paper the photos are mounted on is mellow moss. The journaling is done with stampin'Up! write me a memory journaling font, KP Quick.

Nicholas at Age 7!This page uses papers and stickers from the Simply Scrappin Kit, Primary Colors (retired). I used a retired letter set, Whimsical alphabet, and embossed the letters in white so they stood out on the black card stock. I attached journalling strips with assorted colored brads, and used the brads again as accents on the page. I used the photo corner punch ( Stampin'Up!) with some of the paper from the kit also. Almost all of the other stickers are from the kit, with the exception of the number 7 which was from my stash of letters.

Palm Springs
I love how easy the Simply Scrappin' kits are to pull a layout together. This pages were literally made in minutes. All of the supplies are from older kits, but I wanted to show them to see how easy it is to make some fun and simple pages quick! The paper is from the Simply Scrappin' kit Creative License, and the die cut stickers are from the Friends and Flowers Hostess kit. I used a variety of letter stickers to finish the page, and it is done!

Mother's Day cards!I made this card for my Mom for Mother' Day. Tiger lilies are her favorite flower, and I had thought of using this set to make her a birthday card, but I couldn't wait until then, so it will be for Mother's Day. I am finding this set ( Fifth Avenue Floral) really versatile, think of all the different types of lilies you can create! The main card is pumpkin pie, as are the lilies, mixed a bit with saffron, and tangerine tango. The mother's day sentiment is from All Holidays set, and is embossed in white on the kiwi kiss card stock. The whisper white layer is embossed with the small dots from the Stampin'Up! backgrounds texturz plates.

I have been wanting to make a card with my new flower die , Sissix flower layers w/ leaf.

I cut two of the larger flower in whisper white card stock , and cut one of the smallest flower from barely banana card stock. The leaves are cut from certainly celery card stock. This card also uses the new Tea Party designer paper ( the stripes and the beautiful subtle pattern of the almost amethest pattern) cut from the Big Note Sizzix die, and the saffron latte buttons. The main card is almost amethest. The Mother's Day sentiment is from the All Holidays set, and is embossed in white. This card may look somewhat complicated but the Big Shot really makes a card like this quick to put together!

Kid's Birthday Cards

Girl Birthday WishI wanted a simple card that I could use this fun birthday stamp on. This stamp is called Birthday Wish, and is one of the stamps that could be earned as part of the April promotion. It is one of my favorite birthday stamps. The designer paper is from the retired polka dot and petals DP, and the satin ribbon Is Simply Satin from Basic (michaels). The new designer hardware from Stampin'Up! Occasions Mini is so much fun. These Basic Jumbo Grommets are so easy to add and are one of my new favorites! The card is pretty in pink card stock, and the sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder.

Loop-to-Loop Rub-ons
I had wanted to make some cards with the loop-to-loop rub-ons for a while and hadn't had the chance. So today I made a boy birthday card with the airplane image. This is the first time using the pacific point blue, and I quite liked it, especially with the orange and kiwi kiss combination.

the main card is baja breeze card stock, with accents of the pacific point and pumpkin pie.The ribbon is the striped kiwi kiss. The designer paper is from My Minds Eye.

I haven't had any time lately to play so I thought I would today! I will be needing quite a few birthday cards as all of our birthdays are in the coming weeks. This card was made for the sketch challenge last week at Splitcoast ( SC224), this is the first time I have had to post it!

This is for my daughter who loves pink and gerbera daisies, so I thought this was as close as I would get for that. The stamp is Inspired by Nature ( Stampin'Up!) and the sentiment is Happy Birthday by 'G' Studio. The card stock I used is whisper white, pink passion, a scrap of pink polka dot, and a scrap of Urban Oasis DP from Stampin'Up! The inks are pink passion, chocolate chip, and old olive.

I made this for today's sketch challenge ( SC225) at Splitcoast. I wanted to make some cards with the single promotion stamps. For this card I used the Birthday Wish stamp from Stampin'Up! I also wanted to use up some of my stash of things that haven't been used in a while, so I pulled out the polka dot and petals ( pink dots)DP and winter Bright (stripe) DP both from Stampin'Up! I have many prima flowers that I need to use, so those went on too. The colors of card stock used are: pretty in pink, rose red, whisper white. The ink I used was prettty in pink, tempting turquise, rose red, and old olive. I picked brads that worked in those colors as well.

Poppin Pastels Easter

We made this card last weekend in my techniques class. This card was for the poppin pastels technique. I love the look of the pastels on the Egg hunt wheel ( from Stampin'Up!), it makes a fun soft colored background for the main image ( An Eggcellent Easter set, Stampin'Up!). The main image was stamped in chocolate chip and watercolored in baja breeze, certainy celery, pink pirouette, and so saffron. The added pink pirouette ribbon and the celery brad finish a simple card.

Flower pot card

The new technique at Splitcoast was too fun! I loved this idea for the flower pot card. The flowers are on the top of the insert that fits into the flower pot. You can write at the bottom of the insert.

This also gave me a chance to use a new Bigz die, the flower layers with leaf. I used a bunch of other punches as well including; large oval, oval scallop, scallop edge punch, five petal flower, trio flower, and 1/16" hole punch. The pot is made from close to cocoa, and some older SU DP. The flowers and some of the leaves are from the new Walk in the Park DP. The flower centers have kiwi kiss corduroy buttons, and pretty in pink brads. The small leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch. Stamp is from the oval all set. The card stock colors are close to cocoa, kiwi kiss, pumpkin pie, so saffron, pretty in pink.

I also wanted to try out my new scallop oval punch. The colors are pixie pink, perfect plum, and certainly celery. The 'for you ' sentiment is from the All Holidays set.

Great Friend cards

I couldn't wait to play with this new set, A Great Friend, from the Occasions mini catalog. This card also uses the new designer paper, A Walk in the Park, as well as the new rub-ons, Summer Love. The main card is Bajaj Breeze, and it is paired with the designer papers in pretty in pink and kiwi kiss as well. The main image uses the rub-ons as well as the stamps from the set. The flower centers are the new kiwi kiss corduroy buttons. This sketch is the sketch of the week and the colors are the color challenge of the week at Splitcoast Stampers.

I made this for today's limited supplies challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. It was to make a card only using black and white ( grey is a shade of black, right?) even the embellishments must be , although silver is counted as grey. The card is made with basic grey cardstock, I added a piece of the new Walk in the Park designer paper to the bottom. The flowers are also punched from the new paper with the five petal flower punch. The centers of the flowers are filigree brads with small white brads in the center. The top is done with the older rub-ons called Love and Happiness. The butterfly is from the new set Great Friend.

This is one of my favorite cards from my class last week. It uses the hostess set Itty Bitty Buds. It also has some other favorites: old olive felt flower, pumpkin die cut flower, and mat pack for the holes punched along the bottom. The main card is real red, with old olive DP, bashful blue, and whisper white card stock. The inks used are pumpkin pie, pretty in pink, bashful blue, old olive, and real red.
This is another of the cards we recently made at my stamp-a-stack class. It uses the Fifth Avenue Floral set. The main card is in not quite navy , and the smaller flower from the set was stamped in white craft ink. The whiper white piece is stamped in not quite navy, kiwi kiss, and baja breeze. It was then punched with the spiral punch. The sentiment is on a piece of baja breeze and clipped to the card with a clip from the retired hodgepodge hardware. The ribbon is kiwi kiss 5/8" striped.

Origami Box with Note Cards

This Saturday I am doing a class making this origami box with lid which fits these matching fresh cuts note cards. The box is made from the new designer paper from Stampin'Up, A Walk in the Park, from the new Occasions mini catalog. The cards will be in the four colors matching the box, kiwi kiss, baja breeze, regal rose, and so saffron. The buttons are from the button bouquet and the new corduroy buttons in baja breeze and kiwi kiss.

I finally had some time to play with my new sets from the Occasions mini catalog. Both of theses cards use 'An Egg-cellent Easter' set and 'Egg Hunt' wheel. The sketch is from the sketch challenge yesterday at Splitcoast stampers. I used some scraps of Stampin'up designer prints paper and a scrap of the polka dot and petal DP from last year. The pale plum strip has the Egg Hunt wheel embossed in white embossing powder. The main image is watercolored on watercolor paper. The buttons are from the button bouquet and soft subtles. The card stock is bashful blue, certainly celery and whisper white. The scraps are prints designer paper in celery, pretty in pink, and bashful blue.
This card uses the Egg-cellent Easter set and the Egg Hunt wheel. The sketch layout came from the sketch challenge yesterday on Splitcoast. The card is certainly celery 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card front. The white strips are embossed with the Stampin'Up texturz back grounds, small polka dot. the main bunny image is watercolored on watercolor paper, and then mounted on Baja Breeze card stock. The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder on a pale plum scrap and punched ( 1 1/4" circle punch), mounted onto certainly celery ( 1 3/8" circle punch) The buttons are older soft subtles buttons, and the ribbon is from scraps.

Fifth Avenue Floral!

I made some cards for a presentation at our group meeting a few weeks ago and I am still posting some of them. This was the card I made for the swap. I wanted to make it in colors totally different from the presentation colors and the colors that the Fifth Avenue Floral is shown in the catalog samples. It is in tangerine tango, kiwi kiss and cameo coral. I really like the color combination! The butterfly die cut is also embossed with the small polka dot texturz plate.
This card was fun to make. It is a joy fold card that uses designer paper from the Urban Oasis collection. The main card is confetti cream with the DP on top. The lilies from the Fifth Avenue Floral are stamped in versmark and then clear embossed. They were then colored with white prismacolor crayons. I wanted to use some of the Soho Designer Hardware for the closure for the card. The sentiment is from the co-ordinating Fashion District rub-ons. ( all Stampin'Up! Manhattan Style line)
This card uses the Fifth Avenue Floral set, and the sentiment is from the co-ordinating Fashion District Rub-ons. The scallop at the bottom is from the canvas cuts die cuts that also co-ordinate in the MANHATTAN STYLE LINE. I like the look of the ribbon glide and the clear rhinestones with the baja breeze and basic grey colors together. The ribbon is the basic grey tafetta. The rose is embossed in whisper white embossing powder.

March 5, 2009 - Stamp a stack samples

I am busy making some samples for my stamp a stack class this weekend! I am not sure if I will use all of these it depends on my lastest order coming! I was intrigued by the technique challenge at Splitcoast a few weeks

ago for the recessed window frame, so I thought I would give it a try. I wanted to keep it really simple, to keep the

window the focus. This is made with one of my favorite SAB sets, Botanical Blooms.

The senitment is from 'On your Birthday'. Card stock is very vanilla and kiwi kiss. Inks are black, pumpkin pie prettty in

pink, and kiwi kiss.

I added a kiwi kiss circle and black eyelet, with pink tafetta ribbon.

The next card I made for Kristina Werner's color challenge#35 this week, which is chocolate chip, close to cocoa, pink pirouette, and/or pretty in pink, and white. I was thinking simple card, so I could use it for my stamp a stack, and wanted to show the texturz plates too. It uses the embrace life set and the swirly texturz plate from the Stamp'up! backgrounds. The card stock I used is very vanilla, pretty in pink, pink pirouette, and chocolate chip. ( missed the close to cocoa?)

The last card was made for the color challenge this week at Splitcoast, It was kiwi kiss, pink passion, and chocolate chip. I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set. It has DP from Basic Grey and the kiwi kiss DP is from the Urban Oasis series from Stampin'Up! It also uses the scallop edge punch and choc. chip grosgrain ribbon.

March 2, 2009 - Inspire!

I created this card today for Kristina Werner's color challenge #43. I love her color challenges and I have not been able to do one in a while.

I wanted to do some watercoloring today and I knew the colors would work well with this set. The images are all stamped in Chocolate chip on watercolor paper and watercolored in. The leaves and butterfly were cut and mounted after. I stamped the main piece with sanded softly in caramel, and the french script in close to cocoa. I though it time to brake out the hodgepodge hardware ( pewter finish) so used that for the INSPIRE sentiment. The dotted chocolate ribbon is from the Valet ribbon originals. The brads in the flower centers are the aged copper finish. The card stock for the card is red riding hood ( instead of ruby red) and the other card stock is chocolate chip.

The color challenge yesterday at Splitcoast Stampers was summer sun, kiwi kiss and pumpkin pie. I decided on a simple card with primarily the flowers ( from the Botanical Blooms set from the Sale-a-Bration mini)and the birthday sentiment ( My Sentiments Exactly)

I just loved

the color challenges last week and this week at Splitcoast. Last week was rose red, kiwi kiss, and more mustard so I created this card for it(CC206).

I used the water spritz technique for the watercolor look, it is a little too splotchy for me though! The polka dots are on more mustard designer paper.

This card is both the color challenge from yesterday (CC207)and the sketch challenge today(SC217)! What a fun sketch.

The stamps are Botanical Blooms ( Sale-a-Bration)again, and french script for the background. I added the sentiment from the set in white embossing powder onto the pumpkin and punched it

with 1 3/8" circle punch. Then the scallop punch for the urban oasis designer paper piece and the kiwi kiss corduoy buttons.

Staying with the watercoloring theme I am adding this card I made a few weeks ago. It uses the Fifth Avenue Floral

stamp set. I watercolored the lilies in and cut one out to mount on top.

I also embossed the basic grey piece with the Stampin'Up! backgrounds texturz plate. The kiwi kiss piece is run through the scallop edge punch, pink tafetta ribbon to finish it off! The birthday sentiment is from the fashion district rub-ons.

Some more images from the items I made for the meeting. I thought this set ( Fifth Avenue Floral) would be wonderful for a wedding invitation. I did two different color combinations, this one was basic grey, baja breeze, and kiwi kiss. the other was rose red, pretty in pink and kiwi kiss. the actual invitation was printed on my computer. The purse is made from the Urban Oasis designer paper, kiwi kiss corduroy buttons, and kiwi kiss striped grosgrain ribbon. I will try to post a pattern for this in the next few days, as I had many requests for them!

I wanted to share some items I made for our Luv to Stamp group meeting yesterday!

I did a presentation on the Manhattan Style line from Stampin'Up!

Most of the items use the Fifth Avenue Floral set, Urban Oasis designer paper, Park Avenue Patterns stamp set, and coordinating card stock, and ribbons.

The upper box is an Origami box with lid, made with the Urban Oasis designer paper, basic grey and Baja breeze card stock, embellished with the Fashion District rub-ons, clear rhinestone brads, basic grey tafetta ribbon, and baja breeze striped grosgrain ribbon.

The card at left can be opened up or slid out to reveal the main card. It uses the same supplies, but is also embossed with white embossing powder for the rose image.
